This marks the fifth year that Wangat Lodge has joined forces with Shakespearience Australia to bring professional outdoor Shakespeare to this beautiful part of the world. The 2026 production promises to be the best yet.
This year’s production is Twelfth Night — one of Shakespeare’s funniest, quirkiest and most charismatic romantic comedies, filled with mistaken identities, mischief, music, love and wonderfully eccentric characters.
Dates: 29 to 31 October 2026
Venue: Wangat Lodge, 1938 Chichester Dam Road, Bandon Grove

For those who have never experienced Shakespeare at Wangat Lodge, it truly needs to be seen to be believed. Returning guests will once again be warmly welcomed into the special theatre community that has grown around these performances.
The setting makes these productions truly extraordinary. The performance unfolds across three different stages in the forest, with the audience moving through the landscape alongside the story. It begins in the fading light of dusk and, as the play unfolds, the forest transforms until the final scenes are performed beneath theatrical lights and a canopy of stars.
Wangat Lodge comes alive for the evening, with the festival bar serving local beers and wines, along with ice creams and snacks for guests to enjoy as the story unfolds.
The now-famous intervals are another highlight. Guests gather at the forest amphitheatre, where drinks and ice creams are brought to them as they sit beneath the trees and atmospheric lighting, recount favourite moments and wonder what Shakespearean chaos awaits next.
The evening does not have to end when the curtain falls.
Guests are invited to stay for a post-show dinner, with Wangat Lodge’s chefs preparing a delicious, wholesome meal while the bar remains open. It is a wonderful opportunity to linger, meet and mingle with the actors and director, and share the experience with friends, neighbours and fellow theatre-goers.
Over five years, these performances have become much more than a night at the theatre. They are a celebration of storytelling, community and the remarkable place the region calls home.
Wangat Lodge’s Shakespeare performances have always sold out, so guests are encouraged to gather some friends and book early. Dinner offerings are available to view on the booking site.
Wangat Lodge looks forward to welcoming guests into the forest for Twelfth Night at Wangat Lodge.
Book early and be part of this unforgettable evening of theatre beneath the stars.
